Apache Jakarta Apache Jakarta retired in December 2011 and the move to the Attic was completed in December 2011. Founded in 1999, the Jakarta Project housed a diverse set of popular open source Java solutions. In December 2011, Jakarta was retired as all of its subprojects had either become their own projects or been retired.
